With a career spanning two decades, Dr. Milind Kumar serves as a preeminent Consultant Clinical Oncologist expert in holistic oncology. His rigorous training and professional journey include prestigious stints at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad,and as Department Head at the Malabar Cancer Centre,
For the last 14 years, he has focused his expertise on serving the community in Trinidad and Tobago.Dr. Kumar bridges high-level clinical practice with a persistent drive for academic leadership. He is a frequent contributor to international medical symposiums and a key figure in specialist education.
He was a primary architect behind the 2013 resurgence of the Young Radiation Oncologists' Conference in India, a cornerstone event for the next generation of cancer specialists.His clinical focus centers on sophisticated radiation methods and collaborative care models.
Dr. Kumar is adept in the application of Volumetric modulated radiotherapy VMAT, Intensity modulated radiotherapy IMRT, brachytherapy, and high-precision imaging, ensuring systemic and radiation therapies are perfectly harmonized for the patient. As a prolific scholar, Dr. Kumar is deeply involved in clinical trials and peer-reviewed studies. He utilizes modern breakthroughs to elevate survival rates and optimize the daily well-being of those under his care. He has been a driving force behind the development of a pan-Caribbean forum, the Caribbean College of Radiation Oncology, with the vision of bringing together radiation oncology services and professionals from Trinidad and Tobago, The Bahamas, Jamaica, and across the wider Caribbean. The initiative aims to strengthen collaboration in education, training, research, and professional development among radiation oncologists and the broader radiation oncology team, including medical physicists, radiation therapists, oncology nurses, and other oncology professionals.

Educational Pedigree
Dr. Milind Kumar completed his MBBS at the renowned Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, followed by an MD at Safdarjang Hospital and a residency at AIIMS New Delhi. His early career focused on pioneering clinical research. Notably, he helped launch the SBRT lung initiative at AIIMS. Before moving to Trinidad in 2013, he practiced at Apollo Hospitals Hyderabad andĀ was head of department of radiation oncology unit at Malabar Cancer Centre., Thalassery which is a regional cancer centre serving north Kerala (India). The centre successfully commenced interstitial brachytherapy program during his tenure.
